SoNo Scholarship

Six times a year, SoNo Academy offers a qualified individual a $1,000 scholarship that can be applied to their SoNo Academy tuition.

The purpose of the scholarship program is to help individuals who are passionate about the cosmetology field, but are struggling to finance their education. Our goal is to encourage excellent candidates with the potential to have a significant impact in this industry.

The scholarship is financed through donations from clients, individuals, SoNo Academy, industry professionals and ongoing fundraising efforts.

We are looking for people who are:

  • Talented
  • Creative
  • Passionate
  • Hard working
  • Great with people

How to Apply:

Step 1Download and complete the application

Step 2: Get 2 letters of reference from:

  • Hairdresser
  • Teacher or employer

Step 3: Write a personal essay ( no more than 500 words typed) answering the following questions:

  • Why are you choosing this career?
  • What qualities do you have that will make you successful in this field?
  • How will this scholarship help you achieve your goals?

Step 4: Make an appointment at the Academy to take a tour and drop off your application in person.

The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation (BCL), established by AACS,helps to make dreams come true with scholarship opportunities for those looking to pursue and further develop a career in beauty & wellness.

To date, BCL has awarded over half a million dollars in scholarships for basic and advanced cosmetology, nail, and massage therapy education programs.
